Panel Filters – Inter-Fold C

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

Medium Efficiency, Odour Control Panel

The Inter-Fold ‘C’ is designed specifically for odour control and particulate removal applications.

The Inter-Fold ‘C’ uses maximum surface area for increased odour adsorption. As air passes through the filter, dust is captured by the synthetic media and odours are controlled by the activated carbon. With each pass, the air becomes increasingly purer. The Inter-fold ‘C’ eliminates the need for heavy granular carbon trays and cells, providing savings in freight. Further, the design creates a much lower initial resistance compared to granular filters, resulting in energy savings.

To facilitate easy replacement of existing HVAC filters, the Inter-Fold ‘C’ is available in all sizes with standard depths of 25 mm, 50 mm and 100mm.
The Inter-Fold ‘C’ odour control panel is contained in a rigid, heavy duty, high moisture resistance beverage board. The support members are bonded to each pleat on the upstream and downstream sides to ensure proper pleat spacing and stability. The carbon pack is bonded to the entire periphery of the frame to eliminate the possibility of air by-pass. The frame sides overlap on all four sides with tabbed and overlapped corners to provide a rigid double wall construction.

Filter Media
The filter substrate is a non woven synthetic, scientifically designed to achieve maximum dust filtration for particulates while maintaining a captive carbon surface for efficient odour adsorption. The media support is an ‘expanded diamond’ grid with an open area of 98%. The filter media is chemically bonded to the media support and pleated to provide maximum surface area.

The fine ground carbon with a minimum 65% CTC (carbon tetrachloride) activity rating, is thermally bonded to the filter substrate resulting in very little ‘brush off’. This media carbon configuration allows partial bypass which promotes odour adsorption and extended life in a recirculating application.

Each filter is hermetically sealed during production to ensure a long shelf life and to maintain the maximum activity rating of the activated carbon.

TEST METHOD – MULTIPLE PASSES

Concentration of contaminant is set at 425 parts per million (PPM) with a control filter in position. All operations are conducted in a cleanroom. The test filter is inserted and concentration is monitored until below OSHA (TLV-TWA*) limit.

The time weighted average concentration a normal 8-hour work day and a 40-hour work week, to which nearly all workers may be repeatedly exposed, day after day, without adverse effect.

* TLV-TWA: Threshold Limit Value – Time Weighted Average.
